Lilly and Louis's
Silver/blue Puppies

Lilly was one amazing mother. Again, devoted in her parental duties, she cared and carried out her role with selflessness and maturity. Lilly produced 10 puppies, but one puppy did not make the first few hours and died a few hours later.
Silver puppies are born black and it is very difficult to see if they will be black, blue or silver until they reach 6 weeks of age.

2 weeks
This light blue collar boy at 2 weeks is black, but he turns out to be a silver. At 2 weeks I administer worming with panacur. These babies are very laid back and calm. Lilly tends to them with ease. Again, no help is needed with the feeding. Lilly feeds all nine puppies herself.
3 weeks
Here is Bonnie. She lives with Debbie in Norfolk. Bonnie is beautiful blue puppy. Out of 9 puppies, Lilly and Louis produced 6 silvers and 3 blue puppies. The puppies at 3 weeks are brought down from the whelping room to join the family in the kitchen/family room.
4 weeks
At 4 weeks you can start to see the difference in the colouring of the blue girl (Bonnie in the front) and the silver boy Casper behind her. At this point I had a good idea on the eventual colouring. The silver puppies from birth had a brown shine to them, whilst the blue coat was black until about 6 weeks where they too developed a brown shine to them.
This litter was a very calm litter, very self assured and confident without being dominant. A joyful litter.

6 weeks
Here we have our lovely light blue collar boy again. See the colour in the face...he is silver. I shave the faces on a weekly basis from the age of 3 weeks. The puppies are not bothered by this and when they leave for their forever homes are already in the grooming routine.
