I first discovered my love for standard poodles whilst on holiday in Tenby in August 2016. In the amusement arcade (aptly called Serendipity), I met the most gentle giant, a cream standard poodle, who left a lasting impression on me. After years of research and waiting for the right time, we made the leap. Roll forward to 2023, on our way to another holiday in Tenby, we stopped off at Crickhowell, where we crossed paths with 2 of the most beautiful standard poodles. After a lot of chatting, and admiring, the owners kindly gave us details for Jane. It truly was fate! As soon as we got back to the car, I phoned Jane and immediately felt an affinity to her. She was very open and gave me lots of information. Jane is a no-nonsense woman (not unlike myself), with a heart of gold and a true yearning to only do the very best for the kind souls entrusted to her. Yes, she asks lots of questions, because she cares so much for her pups, and wants to make sure you and they are a good match. But, she is also willing to fully answer any questions you might have, and is very honest in her replies. She’s a very knowledgable and dedicated breeder, the best. During our journey to adopt a pup (Bruno x Tammy 2023), Jane kept us well informed from the start, with constant updates, photos and videos of the progress of the pups. She is heavily invested in her breeding programmes and she is extremely successful in breeding standards that are healthy, with the best temperaments and who are confident and happy pups. At 8 weeks, they are well socialised, mostly toilet trained, recognise their name, sit and have been exposed to lots of stimuli including clippers, fireworks, children, different textures underfoot and other dogs barking etc. Our pup, Margot, is confident, gentle, inquisitive, loving, playful and smart. She’s good with children and other dogs, a complete bundle of joy not fazed by anything, and I can’t thank Jane enough

I have wanted a Standard Poodle for many years and was recommended to Jane Edna Murphy & Argentcymru Poodles. About 2 years ago I made an initial enquiry to Jane and we had an excellent and lengthy phone call getting to know each other and what we were both all about. From that point I followed Jane’s social media pages and put my name down on her list. Jane is excellent at keeping everyone up to date about breeding, the progress of current litters and generally lots of informative posts about her poodle family. I really liked the fact that Jane is very open. It gave me a lot of confidence. At the end of May my puppy was born. It was wonderful to meet her at Jane’s house and meet puppy’s mum and dad. Jane brings the puppy’s on beautifully and when she came home in July we were chuffed to bits with our little girl. Once you have one of Jane’s Poodle it feels you become part of the Argentcymru family. Jane is always on hand to answer questions and give advice. I would highly recommend Jane & Argencymru and look forward to the day I can have another of her puppies.

This beautiful boy is my 14 week old puppy from Jane. He’s a Tammy and Bruno baby. I researched for ages and found Janes website about 5 years ago. I spent a long time watching the progress of the beautiful puppies Jane was breeding and the care she took in the selection of her breeding poodles. Finally it was the right time to go on Janes waiting list. From the mating, to progress of the pregnancy to the birth of the puppies, Jane kept me informed along the way. On the day of whelping, we had photos of each puppy and whether they were boys or girls. The 8 weeks waiting to adopt our pup went very slowly, but we were given regular pupdates, videos and advice on what to do when we got our new pup. Now it seems he’s always been here. Ouzo is bold and confident, funny and very bright. We are already going puppy training and he is a very quick learner. He’s also extremely cuddly and such a darling boy. We just love him to bits. We have recently purchased the most beautiful puppy from Jane . It can’t go a miss without me sharing and putting into words how wonderful Jane is as a standard poodle breeder …I’ve known about Jane for many years as I groom two of her wonderful dogs , I always knew when the time was right for me to get a new puppy Jane would be the one I would go to . Her dogs are amazing and breed from the best . But most of all Jane is so dedicated to the breed ,she goes above and beyond to make sure her new puppies have the very best start in life. From the day my new puppy was born I was included in his journey so I’ve witnessed the love and care her puppies get . They are weened on the best foods , give lots of toys to stimulated them , they are taught the basic sit / stay , they get to hear different noises eg fireworks , babies crying , cars ect to prepare them for the out side world.The puppies get to have outside open space and inside cozy beds with lots of cuddles and handling .My new puppy is proof of a 1st class dog with a beautiful nature and very confident.The dedication , love and care my puppy has received from Jane has given him everything in preparation for his life’s journey . In July 2023 (Tammy & Bruno litter May 2023) we brought home ‘Argentcymru Joyous’ – or Jasper to his family. Jane is extremely knowledgeable about the breed and in rearing puppies, we felt so at ease with her from the start. The commitment to Tammy and the pups from birth to us bringing our boy home was remarkable. Jane video’s the pups and Tammy so you can see them progress from those early days right through to taking them home. During the pups time with her she introduces them to noises, textures , different flooring, puzzles and the list goes on….. You really won’t find a breeder who puts more love and effort in to giving them the best start in life. Jasper now completes our poodle family (for now…) alongside his slightly older brother Rufus (born March 2023) who shares the same Dad and a lot of Argentcymru genes on his Mum’s side!!! We will be forever grateful to Jane for them, they are both loving, affectionate, playful and confident dogs, we couldn’t ask for more!!!

Oh wow. Where do we start? We started our poodle journey after meeting other poodles including one of Jane’s. We were introduced to Jane who recommended a litter to us and our first poodle arrived. We had to wait a couple of years but we went to meet Jane to meet her May 23 Bruno / Tammy litter. We spent over 2 hours meeting the litter and with our daughter who Jane utterly spoilt and they were all incredibly relaxed. Fates aligned and we took Albert and Beatrice home 4 weeks later. They have been such a delight. They are confident, fun, relaxed (although Albert is far more relaxed than Beatrice) and just gorgeous. They have integrated into our family perfectly. Albert is gentle playful and affectionate. Beatrice is a ball of energy and always wants to be ‘helping’ but also just loves to flump on the sofa. Thank you so much Jane.

Unbeknownst to Jane, she has been my future breeder since 2016 when I first found her and her pack online. Fast forward to 2023 and we lost our beloved Standard just before one of Jane’s pups had a litter. It was fate. From the first phone call we have been so impressed with Jane. Clearly a warm and lovely woman but more importantly a terrific breeder who cares about every single dog and goes above and beyond anything I’ve experienced with previous breeders. Daily updates, litter family WhatsApp groups and chipped pups are just some of the things you can expect from her healthy, happy and beautiful litters. I first met Jane and her Standard Poodles 3 years ago. I was immediately impressed with the temperaments of all the dogs in the house - entire males living together with several bitches and older dogs, and all of them in lovely condition and nicely groomed. How on earth did she manage it - with I think, at the time - 17 dogs all living in the house and no kennels? Lots of TLC it turned out, skilful training, and a dedicated approach underpinned by a genuine HUGE passion for the breed! As a breeder Jane is entirely professional, and plans her litters with diligence and flair. I have always health-tested my own dogs, so when I discovered that Jane puts all her dogs through rigorous KC/BVA health tests for hips, elbows, eyes and extensive genetic testing too it didn’t take long to make up my mind to book my next Standard Poodle from Jane. I joined the Argentcymru waiting list for a Yanto x Lucia puppy next time around and prayed there would be a super red male pup born for me. And there was! Jane’s dedication to the care of a whelping bitch and her puppies is second to none. There is a birthing pool in a bedroom and constant care and attention before, during, and after the whelping. Prospective puppy owners are kept informed with pictures, videos and descriptions of the progress of bitch and puppies from birth to collection at 8 weeks old. The pups are moved at a suitable age to experience a bigger environment, garden areas and all the household noises. They have incredible toys - a story in itself - appropriate stimulation, including being handled by children, and are raised on puppy pads, so come almost house trained - a real bonus for the new owner! When I collected my gorgeous boy Duke at 8 weeks old he had been bathed, clipped, and came with comprehensive documentation in addition to his KC papers. He is everything I ever wanted and has turned into the most wonderful poodle - Mr. Personality Plus with film star looks to boot. His temperament is incredible, he is good with all people and dogs and is very athletic and lots of fun to have around and take on long walks. If you are looking for a Standard Poodle that ticks all the boxes of being well-bred, reared to the highest standard and temperamentally suited for active family life then Jane and Argentcymru is the place to go. You may have to wait - Jane is not a commercial breeder so litters are limited, but it will be worth the wait.

12 years ago While I was out walking my Standard Poodle, I walked around a corner and bumped into this lady walking her large Standard poodle Louis. We instantly had a connection and became friends. The more I learnt about Jane the more I was impressed with her standard of breeding. When Lily joined Jane's I fell in love and knew that one day I would have a Louis and lily. Luckily on lily's last litter I was in a position to have a puppy and Eboni was born in September 2016. I couldn't of asked more of Jane, She was amazing. Janes care and love for the puppies shone through, we were sent daily updates, Photos and answered any question we had. When the time came for us to collect our little bundle of fluff, Jane sat us down and went through the whole folder with us. We knew everything we needed to know by the time we left. Her care didn't stop there though, the following day I had a message checking how our first night had gone. Jane is always there with help and support even five and a half years later. Eboni has been the most amazing Standard Poodle. She Is fit, healthy, Loving, gentle, playful, well behaved, intelligent and has the most perfect nature and I put all this down to her excellent breeding and breeder. I can honestly say that Eboni makes me smile every single day.

Demelza is three years old and came to us from Jane at Argentcymru Standard Poodles at eight weeks of age. She is beautiful, loving, fun, gentle and just perfect. She shares us with another poodle, two cats and pet birds. She is great with them all. She loves our three young grandchildren too. Demelza joins in fully with every aspect of our life. She loves her walks and is calm in the house. She's well behaved on the lead and when off lead she plays energetically with her friends. She loves a romp on the beach and enjoys long walks in the countryside. She travels well in the car and comes along on all our holidays. She is so versatile and happy to do anything we ask of her as long as she's with us. She is very glamorous, but loves to get muddy and dirty. Not a problem as she jumps into the bath on command and behaves beautifully for grooming. Jane puts so much work into her puppies. They are well handled and used to all the household sights and sounds they are likely to encounter in their new homes. Jane stays in touch throughout the pups' early weeks, sharing photos videos and information regularly so you feel fully involved as your puppy grows. And once your pup is home with you she is always happy to help with any support and advice you may need.

We found Jane 2 years before we actually adopted one of her puppies. We were not quite ready to get one at first but we followed the progress of her litters and really got to know her and her extended Argent Cymru Family from previous litters. When you adopt a puppy from Argent Cymru, you also get adopted into the family. You can’t ask for a better support network, if you have a question about a poodle, you don’t just get an answer from Jane and her years of poodle experience, you get an array of invaluable input from the many poodle parents. Jane shares every step of the process on the group so you can see exactly what you’re getting yourself into. I promise you will fall in love with all of Jane’s dogs. Whenever we are in the area, we pop in to see Jane so our little man Bodhi can meet up with his brother Yanto and have a play. We feel so lucky to have found Jane as we meet so many dogs who don’t have any contact with their breeder or littermates. We especially enjoy the annual meet ups where the family gets together. It’s a great experience.

All of us owners-to-be were kept updated throughout the pregnancy and, once the pups were born, we eagerly awaited her daily reports and videos of the growing puppies. It was clear that Jane was putting her heart and soul into giving them the best possible start in life and, by eight weeks old, they were confident, happy little bundles of fur ready for their new lives.
My little Kiki walked into our house with her head and tail held high, immediately made friends with my older toy poodle, and made herself at home. She was well-adjusted, afraid of nothing and eager to please. She was virtually housetrained, and had none of the chewing or destructive tendencies that are typical in puppies. This was all thanks to her brilliant early handling by Jane. Now six months old, Kiki has an army of admirers, treats everyone as her best friend, and thinks life in general is fantastic. She is a funny, highly intelligent, beautiful, sociable, gentle and loving dog who doesn’t know the meaning of a growl, and I couldn’t imagine life without her. Jane is always at the end of the phone and makes it very clear that, if there is ever an issue with her pups at any point in their lives, she will be there to help or, in a real crisis, take the dog back.
To anyone looking for a poodle puppy, I say, look no further, not because Jane has become a friend through this experience, but because Kiki is simply the best and Jane is, without a doubt, the ‘Puppy Whisperer’!

From the moment we decided as a family that a Standard Poodle would be the right dog for us I wanted to do things right and find a reputable breeder. That's when I came across Jane's beautiful website. I fell in love with her dogs and seeing them all running free on country walks. Her passionate statements about their welfare and breeding principles convinced me that Jane was the right breeder for me despite being a good distance away. I was not disappointed. Jane is happy to give advice and easy to talk to and took us on a magical journey with her transparent approach in involving new parents. We watched updates of pregnant mum, the births as they happened and regular updates every 2 days, photos and videos including worming, vet check ups, feeding and playing until we picked our poodle puppy Wilbur up at 9 weeks old. We also had the opportunity to meet our baby at 4 weeks old which was great. Wilbur on coming home took everything in his stride having clearly been raised confidently and well socialised. He embraced our noisy children and fit into our family perfectly. Wilbur is now 6 months old and is a credit to Jane's hard work and vision. He is growing into a big robust and bouncy young man and we can't imagine life without him! Through Jane's Facebook page 'Argentcymru have standards' we are able to keep in touch regularly with Jane and the ever growing Argentcymru family which is just lovely.

I had always wanted a standard because they are beautiful, nuts and just amazing! I had done lots of research on the net and found Jane's blog. I was very keen to meet her and from the moment I contacted her she was just lovely and so friendly and knowledgable. Carl Crowhurst and I were invited over to meet everyone and we just fell in love with the family, herself and Rog but also the way they live and love all together. Jane is such a special person and we both knew on our drive home after a reluctant goodbye that we wanted to be on the list for one of her pups! But fate had another idea and in Jan 2017 a young man needed a new forever home. Kipling is one of Jane's puppies from a previous year, his mother is Daisy. It was a heartbreaking situation for Jane and our first meeting with Kip is something both her and I will never forget! Carl could not get in the front door before Kip was all over him 🤣 and Jane said that was when she knew, we were his new family. There were tears, laughs and lots of cuddles and love in that house that day. We were so honoured that Jane would let us give Kip a forever home. We have had Kip just over a year now and I can honestly say he is the most amazing personality. He is clever, smart, affectionate, funny and loving friend I could ever have. He has been perfect. Loud sounds don't bother him, he is happy to be left for a few hrs without a problem, he is very clean and does not touch anything that is not his. He is a gentleman and we are so lucky. Our first three dogs were Bedlington Terriers – my mother is a Bedlington breeder and has bred many champions and been top breeder more than once. As a result, my wife and I are very fussy about who we will buy a dog from – we know what questions to ask and what to look for when finding a breeder. We knew Jane was a great breeder from our very first meeting. After a brief exchange of emails, she invited us to her home so that we could meet her and her dogs. For Jane, it was an opportunity to check us out and decide if we were suitable people with an appropriate lifestyle to be allowed to own one of her pups. Had Jane not been as keen to get to know us as we were to get to know her, we would never have bought a puppy from her. We met all of Jane’s dogs, with Jane drawing our attention to the bitches who would be mother to the next few litters. Jane talked in detail about how she cares for her puppies and we saw where they are raised. We discussed all aspects of keeping dogs and, as Jane said, we were absolutely on the same page! We had hoped to spend at least an hour with Jane, but it turned out to be three or four, at the end of which both parties knew they had found a good match and we mutually agreed that we would go on Jane’s waiting-list. In 2014 we became the proud owners of our first Standard Poodle – Daisy. I had told Jane that I planned to take our poodle to agility and with her expert eye she picked out a pup that had inherited the dainty build and calm temperament of her mother. Daisy is very well-suited to agility – much more so than her handler! Daisy proved to be such a superb pet that in 2016 we asked to go on Jane’s waiting list again and the following summer we added Daisy’s half-brother, Maccabee, to our family. And what a very happy family it is, thanks to Jane and her total dedication to her dogs. As long as Jane breeds poodles, we won’t be going anywhere else for a pup.

The beginning of January 2018 saw my first Standard Poodle pup come home with me. I’ve had dogs, always Labradors, since I was a pup myself ... & trained them, plus those of others since I was 10 years of age; doing so for a living for the better part of the last decade.
I’m exacting in my ‘standards’ (terrible pun) & want nothing but ‘The Best’ in my dogs: both temperament & health!
I did a L-O-T of homework prior to taking one of Jane’s ...& did so under exceptional circumstances ...from, frankly, an EXCEPTIONAL breeder!
Jane ‘ticked all the right boxes’, as do all reputable breeders, in terms of Health Checks for the potential parents - but - what set her apart from the rest of The Best?
Above all else: Jane’s ‘open humanity’!
What do I mean by that?
Many breeders are focused, purely, on rearing their pups & doing so the right way, but, that’s where it begins ... & ends with K.C. Registration, a puppy-pack & exchange of funds. NOT the case with Jane! This is a lady, a SWEETHEART, who wants to know that you a-r-e sincere in your obligation & responsibility. She looks at the bigger picture - her pups & their life ahead - & that means finding out about ‘US’ (potential new ‘parents/owners’). If you find that intimidating - I wouldn’t approach. Personally: I found this refreshing, endearing, a cut-above-the-rest!!! These are living, breathing souls; not merely ‘business’ & how many of us have heard of dogs abandoned or handed in to rescue centres? If you are happy to collect your pup from a breeder who couldn’t care less where their pups end-up after payment lands in their mitt - you have plenty to choose from. If you want a pup that comes from a home where you are actually WELCOME as part of a (slightly manic, grinning broadly, but dog fanatical) clan: CONGRATULATIONS! You have just found a needle in a haystack - or - perhaps more poignantly phrased (as resident to Newport, South Wales) an absolute DIAMOND amongst a mountain of coal!!!

When we decided a standard poodle was the breed for us I started researching breeders. I found Jane early on but kept looking for someone closer to us, as we live in West Sussex. I kept coming back to Jane though! Her beautiful dogs, her clear passion for the breed, her ethos of keeping her dogs after their breeding days are over and her focus on breeding for temperament and type resonated so strongly with me that I picked up the phone and booked a weekend in Wales to meet her and the dogs. My 8 year old son came too and we both fell in love with the dogs and put our name on the list for a Red bitch. Jane was wonderful from the very first phone call and continues to provide us with advice and support via the Facebook page and directly whenever I message her. Juicy Mango (who I introduce as my daughter) is an absolute dream family pet. She has been around newborns, toddlers, primary school kids, stroppy teenagers, cats, other dogs, horses, sheep, cows, ducks, swans - you name it she’s met it and she’s always been wonderful. A beautiful dog with an amazing temperament, a real family member and an absolute dream to own. I’m so proud of her. She’s like a celebrity where we live, we can’t go anywhere without being stopped. She should have been a movie star! I can’t thank Jane enough for such an amazing girl and I know it was down to her care and attention in the early days of her life, the care for Mango’s pregnant mother, Layla, and her expertise in managing the gene pool. Do not hesitate - my only advice is to get your name on that list soon! You won’t find a better breeder or friendlier support.

I had my first poodle 13years ago what amazing breed they are sadly three years he died in is sleep we were devastated he was only ten. Jane is a treasure I found just over two years ago. After researching standard poodle breeders the Argentcymru website stood out a mile! I sent Jane an email telling her i wanted a red standard poodle. She put me on the list and there my fabulous journey began. I've said it before and I'll say it again when it comes to her dogs Jane wears her heart on her sleeve.

So after living life with by handsome Ziggy for a year I just had to have another and because he was such a fabulous puppy and i wanted another red puppy from the same parents. And thats when my little wild child,. Keela, came to join our family (now 10 months old) Even though she is a full sister to Ziggy. She is very different in nature. Her energy knows no limits. She is so beautiful and she has, just like her brother, an amazing character and lovely nature, and so funny. Always up to something. from the magnificent one and only Sassy and Arnie litter, and home came Toby. Now 6 years down the line and a second pup Rozie from the 2014 Daisy and Kurtis. Jane has been there all the way. She has created a fantastic poodle network of friends through Facebook and annual walks. We share experiences with our pooches , have expert advice on tap. It's like CPD in pet ownership, Making the poodle journey an ever growing one.
Toby and Rozie are like chalk and cheese in some ways and alike into others . But they are both healthy , happy dogs . They are bomb proof with noise . Totally loyal and loving. Great characters and full of fun. Both house trained really quickly and both adore visitors.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend a pup from Jane . She gives every litter 110% attention with the best of everything . Actually I think 110% is an understatement. They are socialised , developed and prepared for their new forever homes with meticulous care. She gives regular updates on development so the new puppy parents can see their puppies development every step of the way.
Jane has a large poodle family which live in the house with her and the family. Having the poodle pack in such close proximity helps the socialisation process and they certainly help to prepare the pups for life in a busy family household.

my daughter has one of Jane's poodles we live in Scotland the pup was well adjusted to family life and noise .toilet trained to go to paper pads and garden. If you are lucky enough to have one of Jane's puppies, you will be taking home a healthy, very well socialised puppy. My boy has the loveliest temperament and is absolutely sound - he is the gentlest of giants and has never instigated aggression with other dogs. You will also become part of an extended family of owners of Jane's puppies who are always supportive of one another. Then there is Jane - you will never find another breeder quite like her. She takes an interest in every puppy and is always on the end of the phone if you have any queries about your pup - she will advise on grooming - what equipment to buy, she will advise on any health and development queries and she never ever makes you feel like you have asked a stupid question (and I know that from time to time I have asked some!) As a family we've always had rescue dogs and got caught in the mind set of all breeders are bad, but when it came to introducing a 3rd dog into the family it became clear that we would have to go through a breeder. Armed with the knowledge of how to find good reputable breeders we found Jane, and she blew all expectations out of the water! From all the health tests/checks, the temperament of her dogs and how they're all treated as part of the family she soon changed our minds about breeders. After phone calls and a meet up we were allowed on the list for a pup from Laylas and Hamish Litter, a few months later along came Lottie! She has been the easiest puppy I think we've ever had, toliet training was a piece of cake, She was and still is pretty much bomb proof with such a gentle and kind temperament. And with her wild child attitude she could not of been a better fit for joining a family of agility and flyball dogs. The amount of comments we've gotten from people about her looks and temperament has been overwhelming.

Owning a dog is a long-term commitment. With luck you will have joy, laughter, love and companionship for 15 or more years so it is important to make the right choice when looking for your puppy. Having had two poodles with Addison’s disease we were determined to track down a breeder who concentrated on health and temperament – not just looks. We also hoped for the added bonus of someone who knew about the importance of an enriched environment for the puppies and early handling and socialisation. Getting a reputable breeder is very difficult these days. We are delighted to have found Jane. She has a wealth of knowledge about her breed and is only a text away if you need help. There is a great support network in place and her dogs are first class. Our silver standard Willow is the most docile, loving, intelligent girl. She has great manners and is easy to train. We are constantly being stopped in the street by people who want to talk to her or enquire about the breed. Finding Jane's website was the best thing we ever did. She certainly knows her dogs

lovely Douglas is growing into a very handsome boy. He has a fabulous temperament, not an ounce of aggression in him. He's a big gentle giant who wants to play with every dog he meets and loves people too. He's so well socialised I can take him anywhere - a friend described him as 'bomb proof' nothing phases him. At puppy class the trainer said he has no social issues whatsoever and put this down to the excellent socialisation he had as a very young pup - all thanks to Jane for her dedication to the pups and their mums during the very crucial stages of the early weeks of their lives. Wanting a red girl standard poodle we approached Jane a year ago to get ourselves on her list - that it is so long is its own testament to Jane as a breeder. We could not get onto the list for a Layla puppy in 2015 and were added to the 2016 list. throughout that period Jane kept in touch sent us regular pictures of Layla and updated us on her health, vet checks her season and breeding with Hamish as well as pictures of her many other dogs. Living near Bristol Newport is only 40 minutes away and Jane invited us several times to walk with her and 'her girls' - 'Princess' Lily is a delight and she and Sassy are heart stealers and but for firm resolve we cold easily have ended up with a red, a silver and an apricot!
We were updated on vet scans, blood tests and as soon as the puppies could be seen we popped over and chose our 'red girl' who we named Ruiva. She was a bonny, bouncing, outgoing puppy who was well socialised and virtually house trained by the time we collected her. Jane kept us informed with emails and pictures on her progress and had a genuine tear in her eye when we collected her.
Six months on Ruiva is a happy, well adjusted and healthy puppy who plays with our 14 month silver girl as if they had been litter sisters and offers slightly more respect to our 5 year old black girl who is reluctantly accepting that her days as 'alpha' dog are over and this new 6 month old rules the roost!
All in all we couldn't be happier with Ruiva or with Jane as the breeder- we consider her a friend and have asked to be on the list next year for a prti-poodle, such is our trust in her as a breeder. We would recommend her and her pups to anybody.

I don't very often write reviews, so the fact that I am writing this one will speak volumes. I had been looking for a reputable breeder for around a year when I came across Jane Murphy. The first phone call lasted around an hour and she was so knowledgeable and so pleased to pass on what she knew, that I knew I had found the right breeder. Jane is passionate about her poodles and it shines through when you meet with her, her dogs are all immaculate and happy. Jane's care with mum Layla both during the pregnancy and for the 8 weeks following, have ensured that the pups were well adjusted and ready for their new homes. We chose Ruby, who has been absolute delight from day one. We had a 3 hour drive home and Ruby slept the whole way, we had one restless night with her but since then she has slept through, oh yeah! House training was a breeze,4 small accidents, which was really our fault. Ruby loves to play and run, loves all other dogs, even when they don't love her! Adores children, she is getting gentler with them slowly, loves her 'lessons', loves to cuddle - all in all she is just brill. We decided that we'd like a standard poodle puppy to join our family, including our adult standard Alf. After some research on the Internet, we found Jane and Argentcymru Poodles. The website gave us insight into a lady who clearly loved her dogs and were an integral part of her home and family. When we visited, we were not disappointed! We met the lovely Lilly and handsome Hugo - as well the rest of the poodle family - and that was it - we were prospective poodle parents. Jane kept us well informed of Lilly's progress and then the birth and development of Theo and his litter mates. Theo was well-prepared for his new life with us. He is the most adorable, good-natured and gorgeous boy! Jane has been so helpful and continues her keen interest in their lives. I waited a long time for my Standard Poodle and when the time was right I did a massive amount of research about both the breed of dog and breeders. As soon as I found Jane and her Argentcymru site I knew we had found OUR breeder. We visited a couple of times and met the whole family both 2 & 4 legged! After suddenly losing our standard poodle of 10 years we were heartbroken. So after a few months our home was not the same without Roly so we started our search for a new man. We were Vooking on the internet when we found Argentcymru which is about 40 minute drive from where we live. The lady was Mrs jane Murphy. So i spoke to Jane and explained what had happened. She said that she had such a big waiting list that it would be a while until we would be able to have one of hers.She kindly said that there was someone else we could try. Jane then invited us to see her wonderful family. We now have a fabulous labradoodle and a standard poodle that are half brothers and their temperament is unbelievable. Good temperament and health were paramount, which meant a breeder who had dogs of a perfect disposition, who was prepared to spend money on testing the parents and bringing up well socialised pups as part of a family. We rejected lots of breeders, then we found Jane (and Roger) and Argentcymru Standard Poodles. Visiting the house and meeting such well behaved and gentle dogs made us realise we could cope with a ‘big’ one. Jane gave us all the time we needed to discuss the breed. We met the prospective Mum and Dad, went for walks with all the dogs and feel we have made good friends who are pleased to answer any inquiry, knowing that Jane takes a genuine interest in the dogs she has bred not just when they are sold but for the whole of their lives. I was looking for a second poodle to be a company for my apricot standard poodle Kaiser. Since Kaiser was six months was clear to us that he would benefit from having another dog in the house. My husband and I started the search, Kaiser is a big boy with “29 inches” and we did not want a small one because we were worried that Kaiser would take advantage of that. We felt in love with the poodle temperament so really want another one. Why we choose Argentcymru? Well when I look into the site was so much information about how to take care of your poodles, the illness that can be transmitted if you don’t choose a good breeder; I wish I have my first poodle from there. I was very impressed, having a son who is a vet I asked him to have a look and he also was impressed. When I spoke to Jane she was very knowledgeable and helpful so we decided to put our name on her waiting list for a litter of Lilly and Louis that she was planning because she advise us that would be the suitable litter because Louis is a big boy, my chances would be better with them. Since then she kept us inform from the day she confirm that Lilly was on puppy to the day our wonderful Blake was born. I am in Scotland so Jane has to choose my boy for me and she could not have done better! He is a great company to Kaiser and everyone in the park, I walk says how beautiful he is and what a character. He is a healthy and happy puppy that only an experience breeder could have produce. I highly recommended her!!

I don't know where to begin to say how wonderful Jane is as a top notch breeder and person in general!! She has given us a beautiful, happy and intelligent poodle puppy who has stolen our hearts and become part of our family.

Wonderful breeders are hard to come by. We have learned from personal experiences how important this is for a healthy and happy pet.

My timing was fortunate to be just before Lily gave birth and I was privileged to be involved in the birth of her August 2013 litter from the start. Jane kept the prospective owners (and the ‘extended’ family) totally updated with the progress of the litter with regular photo’s and updates. When I collected my puppy, the hand-over was handled perfectly. There was time to become familiar and get to know our little fellow and time for Jane to give us lots of advice to assist us. Although I have previously owned dogs, it has been a long time since I had a puppy and being new to the breed, I have asked for lots of guidance regarding his development and specific needs. Jane has always responded quickly and intelligently. The added bonus is the Argentcymru Group pages, set up by Jane, where owners, new and old, swop entertaining tales and help each other. At 5 months, our little man is frequently naughty, but in a cheeky way; very, very, clever, which he often uses to our disadvantage and he loves absolutely everyone – which can be overwhelming. But he is a joy without an ounce of aggression. His eyes are bright, his second teeth are growing straight and true and his coat is sumptuous. He is a star at obedience having mastered many of the exercises even though he is the youngest. I would unhesitatingly recommend Jane when considering a Standard Poodle pup or employing the services of one of her adults.

Toby has been a member of our family for almost a year now. It's hard to believe how fast that time has gone, and equally hard to remember what life was like before he arrived. When I first contacted Jane, she was wonderfully friendly and warm. We had been looking for a little while but once we had met with Jane we were completely at ease; living close to Newport where Jane was based we were able to pop over to see her and the pups as often as we wanted and really made to feel at home. Jane, Roger and the boys, all clearly adore the dogs, and the dogs love them. Jane knows her stuff and is willing to share her experience every step of the way. We are members of the Group Facebook page that Jane has created for the pups and that is a great source of information, allowing us to share experiences and laughter. The puppies had a really great start in life, and Toby came to us August 2012, a happy chappy, and bundle of joy. Toby slept through the first night without trouble, we crate trained him initially and in February 2013 we started to let him sleep out of the crate at night and have never looked back. Except for a penchant for knickers and socks, as a puppy he has never chewed any furniture or plants in the garden. He is loving, faithful and full of joy. Very bright and a wicked sense of fun. Tremendously good natured he wants to be friends with every dog he sees. He is a show stopper where ever we go and we usually end up with a crowd. That said, unless you are a friend don't walk up the drive, its the only time he barks and he sounds huge which is deterrent enough. (though he wouldn't harm a fly) He loves his walks and so do we. Toby is a character and makes us laugh daily. We wouldn't be without him. Thank you Jane xx

Ziva is a very clever girl and uses it for her own pleasure.
she loves running and playing with other dogs (WELL STEALING THERE BALLS) and because she is so quick and fast i am afraid she really does not want to give them thereball back and when she decides to give it back , she will go and get again just for fun.
But her loving and kisses make up for her check, she likes to sit on my knee and so does milly so i sit in the middle of a two seater settee with one on each side.

Dear Jane,
It was lovely to speak to you today. I took this one a while ago and will send you an update when next I capture him.
" When our last two dogs passed away we were so distraught and we thought life would never be the same. Otis was sent from heaven to save us. He is so handsome, I feel sorry for other dogs and their owners when he's around. All everybody wants to do is talk about Otis and the others get neglected. What's more he is not just the "George Clooney" of dogs. He has absolutely the perfect disposition. Loving, affectionate and fun. Always by our side and forever in our hearts. We love him to bits."
Warm regards and thanks for letting us have him. Rest assured he has a five star life!

Lara
This is from my puppy class trainer folllowing Lara's
bronze award this week - it is from an email she sent me
: " Lara is a lovely dog and a credit to you and to the breed. All the assistant trainer drool when
they see her and want one for themselves!" She was top of the class had to go
first in all of the elements of the bronze test and passed first time of asking
- one of only two dogs that did that on the night!
From my point of view - and Martin's she is an absolute joy and I'm convinced that is down to her breeding
and how you started her life. She gets compliment wherever she goes - whether on how beautiful she is or like this morning in Pets at Home - how happy she is.
She is always smiling - such a sunny soul and really works hard at doing her best. She is the light of our life and again that is no small thanks to the advice and support you have given us from day one. You have been warm, welcoming and always willing to talk about the smallest of worries that come from potential puppy parents. We love you for it!

"I found Jane's number on
the internet and after a very lovely, welcoming and informative phone
conversation we decided that we'd visit 'just to have a look and meet the
puppies'. We were ready and quite prepared to walk away emptied handed that was
until we met Jane, Lilly and Louis.
When we walked into the house the dogs were so wonderfully calm and laid back we were
instantly impressed and when the puppies entered the madness began. Jane stayed
clam and composed throughout and was so open and knowledgeable we got more and
more excited at the prospect of having one of her puppies. We had to wait for
another new owner to arrive before we could choose our puppy, so during that
time we chatted endlessly about dogs and met the rest of the pack including
several day care doggies!! Most of which ended up sat on the sofas trying to
escape the exuberance of 6 lively puppies.
Eventually, after Jane had decided we were a suitable forever poodle owner we walked out the
door with our lovely silver girl, Lotus.
The 'after sale' service has been brilliant too and advice and encouragement is always
forthcoming and very welcome too, I might add!!
Lotus has a wonderful temperament and is responding to her training extremely well. We
all love her to bits and we wouldn't hesitate in recommending Jane to any future
potential standard poodle owners.
The whole experience has been a joy. Thank you so much Jane for allowing us the privilege
of owning one of your poodles."

and found them all to be a family of true dog lovers,scince that time we have

Ted
I found Jane Edna Murphy and Argentcymru
Standard Poodle's on Facebook. As a member of a number of Poodle sites I noticed
a photo of Jane's boys all standing together and was blown away by their beauty.
I then added her as a friend on facebook and noticed the stunning and beautiful
Sassy and I fell in love.
I spent hours looking through her photo's and was
very impressed by not only the beauty of all of her dog's but also by the
obvious socialistion skills they all had. It was clear to see that Jane provides
her dog's with the right stimulation they need to be healthy and friendly dog's.
Her Poodle's were not just prissy looking dog's but active, intelligent dog's
living life to the full.
At this time I owned, Alfie, a 10 month old black
Standard Poodle with a wonderful temprement that i felt needed a buddy to play
with. Although growing up with toy poodles, Alfie was my first Standard and my
family and I were keen to buy another Standard at some point in the next
year.
I noticed that the beautiful Sassy was pregnant and her and
handsome Arnie were soon to have puppies.
I commented on one of Janes photo's
saying that Alfie would love to join their walks and was surprised that she
invited us to visit. So my partner and I made arrangements and drove 3 hours to
visit Jane and her wonderful family. Her dog's all greated Alfie beautifully and
really made him welcome into their home and while out walking Alfie followed and
played with them all. Although he took a real liking to Arnie and followed him
everwhere! Sassy didnt join us on the walk as she was heavily pregnant and
needed her rest. However i did give her a cuddle while at Jane's house.
While walking I asked Jane many questions that she was more than happy to
answer and also educated me on health testing information that I didnt fully
understand.
While out we fell in love with Arnie. His spirit and love of
life is infectous and he really brought our boy Alfie out of his shell,
encouraging him to explore and play.
Jane's kindness and obvious love of
her dogs shone through that day. Along with my love for Sassy and that we just
knew there and then that we wanted our own little Arnie, out came the check
book!
We are now the proud owners of our very own Red 5 month old
Standard Poodle puppy that is everything and more we expected. Ted is a
socialable,intelligent, adventerous pup with a real love of life but yet so
loving, sweet and gentle . He loves nothing more than to snuggle up on the sofa
with you after a day's adventures. Jane trained him well so is fully house
trained, enjoys bath time and grooming time.
We love shraing photo's and
stories with the owners of Ted's brothers and sister's through the facebook page
Jane set up for us and hope to all met up on the puppies 1st birthday
:0)

Sid
You can all stop looking for the best dog in the world - I’ve got him and his
name is Sid. That’s my opinion and you won’t shake it!
Sid has been a joy

such a relaxed and happy chap, fantastic with children and other dogs, and even
gentle with the cats.
