I have requested from Laboklin swobs for testing Neonatal encephalopathy (NE)


The DiseaseNeonatal encephalopathy with seizures is an autosomal recessive developmental brain disease. Affected puppies exhibit extreme weakness, those that survive the first week of life generally develop progressively worse ataxia and a whole-body tremor. This is often accompanied by severe generalized clonic-tonic seizures. None have survived to 7 weeks of age. ´The mutation that is suggested to be responsible for NEWS in standard poodles can be detected via DNA-testing.

Layla enjoyed her dayout to Northampton to see Su Eld Weaver for her groom. We were also joined by Louise, who has Casper from the Lilly and Louis Puppy group and Samantha and Rachel, Keira and Daisy from the Sassy and Arnie Puppy group and Kimba. 
It was great to see my puppies looking so healthy and happy! We will do it all again in 6months.

Layla was great in puppy school last week and appeared to do everything that was required of her for that session, so this week we have more training.
So...by the end of week 3Layla should be able to :-
1. Respond to hand signals for sit, stand and down
2. Will settle on command
3. come back when called when playing an exciting game.
4. Walk confidently on a loose lead and adjust the speed
5. learn "off" to the count of 10

Layla is not only beautiful but bright asare standard poodles, so hopefully we will be able to master these challenges just like the last set. Layla enjoys her puppy school....here she is able to socialise under the close supervision of her teacher Shaun Kenvyn and his wife Sue.
I also enjoy these classes, it gives Layla and me time for 1/1.
Layla is a teem member and player of my pack, but having our time for 1/1 is special and I have learnt that all puppies need this time on a 1/1 basis.

Karen, I and some of the poodles enjoyed a relaxing Friday afternoon walk in Sirhowy. It was Layla, Arnie and Sassys first time here and they seemed to enjoy their new enviroment. Arnie is extremely athletic..Karen often refers to him as a gymnast and as youwill see from some of the pics you can understand why he has earnt that reputation.
