My lovely Sassy has come into season 7 months from her last season. Sassy is well, happy and contented.
Sassy is still in "the pack" and will be allowed to stay with them for 1 more week, then I will take her away from the pack. She will have the use of my bedroom with the company of another girl for the next 2 weeks until it is safe for her to return into the pack. I generally introduce the girls back on day 23/24 when I am sure that they will not be mated.
Therefore, going by this, Sassy should in effect come into season in June 2013 and she can then be mated to Arnie for her second litter of red/apricot standard poodle puppies. Puppies are born in August and will be able to leave at 8 weeks from the date of birth.

This sums up the energy and spirit that live within my poodles. Throw a ball and you have their attention! As much as they love to explore and experience the great outdoors, they also love to have attention from us. Basically, I throw the ball and all the poodles run to retrieve it! Karen takes the pics!  Arnie reaches great heights to ensure he gets the ball! Although Lilly is not in this pic, she is the one that can outrun the others.
The poodles are exercised off lead. I walk 6 at one time. They run, chase, play and search for rabbits. Their recall is good, as I am armed with treats and a ball and the whistle. Samson can be stubborn at times, but he comes when he is ready! Selective hearing I think its called.
